Christopher Clay, DAV General Counsel since 1997 and outside counsel for a decade before that, has provided oversight to the
gift-planning department since 2000, when he was named General Counsel and Director of Gift Planning. He holds a B.A., M.A., and
Ph.D. from Fordham University and obtained his law degree from Georgetown University.
Chris comments, "The gift-planning department exists to provide a service to DAV members and friends who wish to remember
the organization in a special and permanent way. Our purpose is not to influence donors, but to assist those who have already
made the decision that DAV is worthy of very meaningful support. In addition, the department is a resource for those who seek
additional information about the Disabled American Veterans."
