Meet the Staff

Christopher Clay, DAV General Counsel since 1997 and outside counsel for a decade before that, has provided oversight to the gift-planning department since 2000, when he was named General Counsel and Director of Gift Planning. He holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Fordham University and obtained his law degree from Georgetown University.

Chris comments, "The gift-planning department exists to provide a service to DAV members and friends who wish to remember the organization in a special and permanent way. Our purpose is not to influence donors, but to assist those who have already made the decision that DAV is worthy of very meaningful support. In addition, the department is a resource for those who seek additional information about the Disabled American Veterans."

Judie List Sweeney, Senior Gift Planner, joined the DAV gift-planning department in 1995. She had eight prior years of fund-development experience in university and hospital settings, as well as prior experience in social work and student services. Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology from Miami University and an M.Ed in counseling from the University of Cincinnati. In 1996, she was awarded the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential. Judie is a past commander of DAV Auxiliary Unit #63 and past president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Cincinnati chapter. Currently, she is a board member for the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council and the Walnut Hills High School Parent Association.

Kati Yockey, Gift Planner, joined this department in 2007 after six years in the DAV Human Resources Department. Kati holds an associate’s degree from Cincinnati State as well as certificates in human resources management and employee/labor relations. She is working toward a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Northern Kentucky University. She is a member and volunteer with the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council, a member of the AFP Greater Cincinnati chapter, and a life member of DAV Auxiliary Unit #63.

Sarah Limes, Gift Planner, was appointed to her current position in 2012 after joining the DAV as a workflow coordinator in 2010. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Cincinnati and has prior work experience in sales and human services. Sarah is a member of the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council and is an active volunteer with the Literacy Center West of Cincinnati. She joined DAV Auxiliary Unit #1 after her younger brother, a Marine, returned home with multiple injuries suffered during his tour in Iraq.
