To enroll in this honorary society, simply let us know if you have created a legacy gift: a bequest in a will or living trust; a charitable gift annuity; a charitable remainder trust; or a future beneficiary designation in your retirement plan or life insurance policy. The most common gifts honored through the Guardian Society are: Bequests Gifts of any size through your will or trust are honored through the Guardian Society. Charitable Gift Annuities In exchange for your gift of cash or securities, the DAV Charitable Service Trust provides you and/or another beneficiary a fixed, lifetime income based on your age(s). There are also significant tax advantages. (After your lifetime(s), the remaining principal passes to the Trust as a gift.) Endowment Fund This is a permanently invested fund, with only the interest and dividends used to fund current DAV programs. It provides major long-term funding for DAV programs, ensuring that today's youngest disabled veterans can rely on DAV services for generations to come. Outright gifts of $5,000 or more to this fund are recognized through the Guardian Society.
